Ground Rules:

Updated 2008

All Parks and Diamonds:

  1. Straight line extended out from backstop, down 1st and 3rd base lines, will define the "Out of Play" line.
  2. If the batted balls rolls, or gets stuck, under any outfield fence, it is a ground rule double.
  3. Any thrown ball which goes under, or gets stuck under, a fence is out of play and Rule 08. a) shall apply
  4. Cones should be used to highlight foul and out of play lines at all diamonds.

University of Guelph - Quad Park:

All Diamonds:

  1. If a fair balls rolls through the breaks in the fence, it is a ground rule double.
  2. If a fair ball hits a tree on the fly it is a home run.

Margaret Green - S2 & S3:

  1. Unless out of play, all balls are live.

Margaret Green - S4:

  1. Ball entering the wooded area in left field on the fly is a home run.
  2. Ball rolling in the wooded area in left field is a ground rule double.
  3. Both center and right fields are played as open field and the batter can advance at their own risk.

Earl Brimblecombe:

  1. Unless out of play, all balls are live.

Norm Jary Z1 :

  1. Fence along 3rd to home stretch is out of play line.  Ball remaining in boundary of fence remains in play.  A ball passing beyond the fence (over, under, through) is out of play.
  2. Ball entering trees in right field in the air is a home run and rolling into trees is a ground rule double.
  3. Ball entering parking lot in left field, in air is home run and rolling is a triple.

Norm Jary Z2 :

  1. CAUTION: Ball hit in air to right / center field may enter adjacent diamond. If ball enters into diamond in air, home run. If ball rolls into diamond, ground rule double.
  2. Fence along home to 1st is out of play line.  Ball remaining in boundary of fence remains in play.  A ball passing beyond the fence (over, under, through) is out of play. 
  3. Ball hit to left / center into parking lot, in air will be home run and rolling in is a triple.

Norm Jary Z3 :

  1. Fence along home to 1st is out of play line.  Ball remaining in boundary of fence remains in play.  A ball passing beyond the fence (over, under, through) is out of play.
  2. Ball entering treed / bush area in right / center field in the air is a home run and rolling into treed / bush area is a ground rule double.
  3. Ball entering parking lot in left / center field, in air is home run and rolling in is a triple.

W.E. Hamilton:

  1. Unless out of play, all balls are live. Open field with no obstacles.
